| RUF junctions can be made in many different
ways. The most demanding is junctions between bidirectional guideways. A junction has to
be able to perform access tests and reject bad vehicles. It must be possible to egress
from the system different places in order to prevent street congestion from blocking the
RUF system. In case of total gridlock at street level, the RUF control system will
redirect the vehicles to leave at the nearest junction. Compared to similar highway crossings, RUF uses far less space and can be placed above existing wide streets or highway crossings. |
