If the distance between junctions is 3 miles, and the top speed is 95 mph, then the average speed is 75 mph.

There is no time table in the public part of the RUF system. The departures are demand responsive controlled by IT and the frequency is so high that nobody need to worry about the departure times. It is far better to have many departures with small vehicles than few departures with large vehicles even if the capacity is the same.

Since the system is automatic on the rail, it is no problem to have many small units. There is no need for chauffeurs in this part of the system. The chauffeurs are only used to drive the maxi-rufs on the road network to and from the rail. This mean that the system can offer fast public transport from door-to-door without transfer.
