The maxi-ruf can drive as a small electric bus. It doesn't pollute in the city. It is very silent and all passengers are seated. It will normally drive in a dial-a-bus mode. The users will call it as they call a taxi and the route will be planned by a computer calculating the best route to match the actual demand.

The chauffeur leaves the maxi-ruf before entering the rail. He is not needed, because the maxi-ruf runs as an automated people mover. On the guideway they are coupled together to form a train.

The maxi-ruf doesn't stop on rail. It decouples from the train and drives to an off-line platform or continues at street level.
