| The maxi-ruf is a small bus. Since
passengers never stand upright inside the bus, it need not be as high as normal busses.
Since the wheel distance is smaller than for a normal bus, the floor can become very low. The cross section occupies only 2 x 2 m and it is almost 7 m long. The channel running through the maxi-ruf does not occupy much space inside the cabine, although it has to be a little wider in the middle in order to allow for a 26 m radius of curvature on the guideway. This radius of curvature corresponds to the narrowest curve which can be allowed without having a too large lateral acceleration in curves at 30 km/h. |
