Dear Mr. Angelius:

With reference to the discussions held in our office August 16, 1996 with RUF International and Mr. Lukman Clark. Director of Development from College of Liberal Arts and President of CALMODE, we are hereby pleased to confirm our commitment to support the promotion, analyses and implementation of a RUF system in the Los Angeles area.

During the meeting, it was agreed that CSULB, CALMODE and RUF International wil1 join forces in order to identify financing for the preparation of a comprehensive feasibility study concerning the technical, financial and economic viability of the RUF System in the context1of thc future traffic infrastructure of L.A. We also agree that we will join forces in the preparation of the feasibility study.

I believe that dual mode rapid transit systems such as that being developed by RUF, offer great promise for helping meet Southern California's transportation needs.

Cordially yours,

Richard Williams, Dean
