| High capacity junctions | 5/6 |

|
| It is possible to place a high capacity
junction on top of the existing road space. A junction where two bidirectional guideways meet and where it is possible to go from any direction to any direction can be pretty compact because the speed during switching is low (20 mph) and consequently the radius of curvature is low (26 m). In order to allow for testing of vehicles there is an access rail followed by an egress rail at each of 4 "sattelite" switches. In this picture from the center of Copenhagen (Jarmers Plads) the junction can be placed on top of the existing road network without removing any buildings. It has 8 egress rails. |
