| In some cities, highways are kept at a
distance from the old center of the city (Copenhagen). This means that cars going from the
highway to the city centre will have to travel a long distance using the arterial roads. A RUF guideway in silent, emits no pollutants and takes up very little space. This means that it can be accepted to let it come closer to the old part of the city. The distance that a ruf will have to use the roads will be shorter than for a car, so the traffic load will be deminished. At the same time rufs do not pollute and make very little noise. |
