| In a typical network of guideways (mesh
size = 3 x 3 miles), a typical user will use 2-3 sections of the guideway before having to
leave the guideway. If 3,600 rufs per hour per direction, use the guideway, it can be
expected that 40% = 1,440 rufs wants to leave at every junction every hour. This is almost
one every 2 seconds. It is vital for the system to find places where the egress flow can be absorbed by the normal streets without causing new congestion. |
